Outdoor Art Installation for #ThisIsSoho
“We have teamed up with London College of Fashion (LCF) to find Soho's next budding artist to create a new outdoor installation on Berwick Street. LCF is the top fashion school in the world, and they have been nurturing creative talent for over a century. With more than 60 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and 165 short courses, their students are collaborators, and as one of the world’s most vibrant districts, Soho wanted to utilise the creativity and innovative nature of these students to unveil an exciting outdoor exhibition on Berwick Street. 
Following a project brief, ten students from the BA (Hons) Fashion Imaging and Illustration course were carefully selected. The course seeks to produce the next generation of innovative, multi-disciplinary image-makers and original thinkers. The ten illustrations celebrate the history of Soho through the eyes of the students and include bold vibrant street scenes, as well as themes of punk, music and fashion.
The 250ft outdoor exhibition on Berwick Street aims to bring a sense of vibrance and maintains Soho's youthful culture by involving the students in this amazing prioject. The Berwick Street and Hopkins Street hoarding will soon reveal a mix&#38;nbsp;of exciting new shops and restaurants next year, but until then, you can enjoy the eclectic art on display.”

ABOUT


Neda Yankova is a Bulgarian
illustrator based in London. Neda graduated BA(Hons) Fashion Imaging and
Illustration at London College of Fashion, UAL in the summer of 2022. Having
spent three years studying in London, gaining experience in the academic fields
of art and fashion, meanwhile developing her artistic signature, she has become
fond of moving image and storytelling as an art form. 


“I am a visual
artist, who wants to breathe new life into illustration as an
academic-discipline.&#38;nbsp; My practice shifts
between several realms – these of animation, illustration for books, comic art
and I shouldn’t forget to mention my whole life I loved exaggerating the
mundane through illustration, thus creating an absurd and witty (hopefully)
representation of everyday life. All in all I am a person of many interests, all
of which fall under the category of Storytelling.”


Neda works skilfully with a
range of traditional mediums such as watercolour, tempera, oil, pencils,
markers and ink. Similarly, she is well acquainted with Photoshop, Illustrator
and Procreate. Her projects are a mixture of the traditional and the more
modern – digital. Recently, 3D art has drawn her attention as well. However,
this experiment is currently on trial.
